Fun With Food

We had fun at dinner last night! She ate a TON - a whole PB & J sandwich, applesauce, cheese and crackers, spaghetti, garlic bread, and her first ice cream cone ever. Yowsers! Here are a few videos of fun with food....

Hannah & Amelia!

Hannah and Amelia got to play together this past weekend! They had lots of fun chasing each other around and playing in Amelia's tent.  They also enjoyed Amelia's new playroom! Taking them out to dinner was an 'experience'...we thought they would entertain each other and make dinner a more relaxing experience, but they seemed to mimic one another's bad behaviors instead. They were total toddlers!

Jay caught a delightful dinner moment...

Summer?

Well, the strange winter continues. It is now apparently summer in Mid-March, with temps in the high 70's - mid 80's! We have spent a ton of time outside in the last week or so, including visits to the park and the zoo. Yesterday while we were playing outside, Hannah blew her own bubbles for the first time - check it out along with a few other pics:

She's a little big for last summer's bike, but she still loves it : )

Two Year Update

Hannah's first "school picture" taken at daycare!
We were glad one of them turned out so well, because our Portrait Innovations visit was a disaster...

Here's a little bit about Hannah's development at age two:

Height: 38 inches, weight: 32lbs, 1 oz.

Movement: She is running like a toddler now, and is working on walking up stairs. When she has things in her hands, she can walk up without holding on for a few steps. Mostly, she still crawls up and down. She is really into mimicing commands (clap your hands, wiggle your toes, etc.) and dancing.

Talking/Cognitive: Hannah has always had a lot to say, even as a baby, and that trend is continuing. She can hear something once and start repeating/using it.  She is using simple sentences, and knows big chunks of songs like "Twinkle, Twinkle", "No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed", etc. She also knows storylines of books and TV shows that we see/read over and over. She knows her letters, her numbers up to 10, her colors, and all the basic shapes.

Personality: She is still stubborn, and will "melt" easily when she is tired. She wants to start doing things herself, but is willing to ask for help when needed.  Most of the time, she is silly and hyper!

Someone was obviously good at making two year olds smile! : )
Favorites: Her two blankies and paci continue to be glued to her more than we would like.  We're going to work on the paci issue this summer, along with potty training and transitioning to a big girl bed. She loves books (Calico and Brown Bear, Brown Bear are HUGE right now), Little Einsteins, Mickey Mouse, and Playdoh. She also likes to pretend that there is a tiger about to do any number of things....eat her snack/meal, 'get' her toys, 'get' mama and dada, etc. Random, but cute!

Snow - Finally!

What a tame winter this has been - I can't believe how much we've been able to play outside! The downside is that we only got to play in the snow once or twice all winter.  How sad! The grass was showing through the snow in the pictures below, but Hannah still loved sledding and building a truly pathetic tiny snowman. : )
Those mittens will probably still fit her when she is five! By the way -this is the first and only time she will be wearing those snowpants. They'll be great hand-me-downs!

Definitely a sad little snowman...

Someone needs a new sled next year! I can't believe she already outgrew it.

Playing Dress-up

Hannah is going through her first dress-up phase! She likes all of our clothes, but especially coats, boots, hats, etc. She's been trying to put everything on by herself, of course, but usually needs help.  One day before her bath, she slowly walked out of my closet wearing just her diaper and the only set of high heels that I own! She walked better in them than I do! Here's dress-up time:

Hannah's 3rd Valentine's Day

Hannah had a fun Valentine's Day! She got to take Mickey Mouse valentines to school, and she got a box of valentines in return.  We had a lot of fun looking at all the cards and eating all the treats! In addition, she got (picked out) a gigantic pink frog from us, and she got a book, some stickers, and a cute Valentine's Day outfit from Grandma Vought. We spent time painting and having a tea party, too! Take a look:

Nothing says Valentine's Day quite like a huge pink frog...

Playing night-night on her froggie

Silly faces - check out the video below!
