Cupcakes!

Hannah and I had fun making cupcakes together! She helped with almost all of the steps, including putting liners in the tins, pouring ingredients, mixing the batter, spooning it into the liners, and decorating. She was scared of the beater - she ran out of the kitchen and sat on Jay's lap! She got in a little trouble for eating the decorations instead of decorating with them, but overall, I was impressed by how well she followed directions. My favorite part was when she sat down to eat her cupcake, and she only wanted the frosting. Guess it would've been easier to just buy her a container of icing!

It was hard for her to separate just one cupcake liner from the stack, but she did it!

Onaway

Our last vacation of the summer was a four-day trip to Onaway. We went with Jay's parents, Aunt Amy, Uncle Andy, and Nora and Henry.  Luckily, Amy & Andy had a camper so we didn't all have to stay in the cabin. Hannah had a hard time sharing toys and having Henry in her personal space while we were there....the poor kid was pushed down quite a few times, and Hannah logged some time screaming her head off in her room because of misbehavior. Despite our challenges with her, we had a great time - especially when we got to go out with Amy & Andy while Grandma and Grandpa watched all three kids!  The kids did have a great time playing outside while we were there, and we had a few fun dance parties. Lots of family fun!

Battle Creek Visit

We went to Battle Creek a few weeks ago to visit my mom and Alex, as well as my dad's side of the family. We had a lot of fun! We went to the Turkey Farm with my mom & Alex.  The turkeys are apparently free to roam around outside, and Hannah and I were surrounded by them - sorta scary! Hannah went to the zoo with my mom, Alex, Kari, Hayden, and Kyler. Jay and I needed a "terrible two's" break, so we did some back-to-school shopping.

The next day, we met my dad, my aunt, and my grandma at Urbandale Elementary School. They got to play with Hannah for a while, and then we went to Pizza Hut for dinner. Yum! Hannah did a good job sitting during the longer-than-usual dinner, and we had a really fun time!
