Busy, busy!

We had another busy week! We became godparents to Amelia Avery this week and went to her baptism and party. Amelia was great during the baptism and it was fun watching the girls "play" together afterwards. On Wednesday, I hosted the mom's club again - look at how much the babies have grown!! We also tried putting Hannah in her stroller without the carseat this week, and she seemed to like looking around and sucking on the straps of the stroller. We also captured a cute video of her in the tub - she LOVES to splash around now. I took some pics of her playing; I introduced her to the stuffed bear that I used to like when I was playing on my tummy as a baby. She's starting to get into stuffed animals a little more - especially when dad has them make funny noises!

3.5 Month Development

Last week, Hannah made significant advances in her development. She laughed for the first time (and has laughed a few times since then), started staying awake for two hours at a time instead of an hour and 15 minutes or so, can grasp an object with both hands and bring it to her mouth while sitting in her infant chair, can squeal (LOUDLY!), and can blow raspberries. Whew! After several weeks of not really seeing a ton of development, she took us by surprise! Here are a few pics that didn't get posted due to her three month photos. Enjoy!

Three Month Photos

We took Hannah to Portrait Innovations today (many thanks to Elisabeth and Joe for the idea!). It was a great experience, especially since we got there right at 9:00am. It was a madhouse by the time we left, but it was nice and calm for the photo shoot. We are glad we went to PI since we got our pictures and the CD right away. We had a hard time choosing shots - there were so many beautiful ones! Here are a few...

Big Milestones!

This was an exciting day! Hannah laughed for the first time. We tried her in the exersaucer for the first time, and she loved it! She laughed the most at a little bus that beeps and has giggling children on it. Check it out! It's the best sound ever. I also included a cute video of her tummy time progress - she's semi-rolling! This has been a fabulous week so far...

First Mother's Day, etc.

We had a great week! We spent quite a bit of time outside in the early part of the week, before the weather turned cold and stormy. Grandma and Grandpa Vought came over from Friday through Sunday, and we had a nice time visiting with them. Hannah took her first trip (of many, I’m sure!) to Great Lakes Crossing with myself and Grandma Vought. Check out some pics from the week - some of my all-time favorites! My first Mother’s Day was very fun and relaxing. We went to breakfast with grandma and grandpa, and then Jay and I took Hannah for a walk downtown. We finished the day with an appetizer and dessert at the Rochester Brewery. Yum! Jay bought me roses and got me two cards – one from him and the other from Hannah. I loved our celebration! Being a mom is so incredible!

Three Months!

What a big milestone – Hannah is three months old! We spent most of the afternoon outside in the backyard…what a beautiful day! She took a long nap on the couch after spending time in the fresh air. Check out the pics!
Last week was busy and fun with lots of visitors. Grandma and Grandpa VZ came to visit us from Thursday to Saturday. The weather was beautiful and we spent a lot of time outdoors. Grandma and grandpa helped us out around the house (thanks!!) and got to spend a lot of time with Hannah.
Amy and Andy came over Saturday and Sunday for a wedding. We got to play with Nora Saturday evening and we experienced the chaos of having two babies! At one point, Nora was covered with macaroni and cheese from head to toe and Hannah was screaming her head off. Most of the evening was great! Nora had fun playing with Hannah’s toys (most of which were Nora’s at one point). She is crawling around like crazy, and kept us on our toes! Her favorite “toy” was an empty water bottle because it made fun noises. Note the matching outfits, courtesy of Amy and Grandma V (thanks!). Our visitor streak is continuing with Grandma and Grandpa V coming this weekend - fun, fun!
As far as Hannah’s development is concerned, she is continuing to make good progress. She is 25 inches long and weighs 14 pounds, 6 ounces. We’ve really noticed improvement in how well she balances her head while sitting in her little red baby chair. She is holding onto things longer, and is bringing them to her mouth more often. Her personality is coming through more and more – she’s a happy baby! She is sleeping somewhere between 5-8 hours at a time at night and takes 30 minute “cat naps” about 4-5 times a day. She still hasn’t rolled, but is sort of twisting to the side while on her back. Hopefully she will debut her roll soon!
