Zoo Adventures

We've had two awesome trips to the zoo in the past few weeks! We saw the baby chimp playing in a tree/riding on his mama's back, the polar bear was swimming/walking on top of the underwater tunnel, and Hannah really liked the butterfly house. She also saw her first movie, a 15-minute 4-D Dora the Explorer adventure.  She had a hard time keeping the 3-D glasses on at first, but she loved it overall! The auditorium snowed on her, splashed her, jiggled her, and blew bubbles. It was pretty cool!

Look, Grandma VZ, a snake!!

Mom's Club

I haven't written about it much, but the "February babies" have gotten together quite a few times this summer.  We haven't met as much as last summer because they all have baby # 2 to deal with, but the toddlers have had a great time when they do get to see each other! Here are some pictures from the last few times they've played.  We went to a park in Rochester one week, and a spraypark in Clarkston the next week. The kids waded in the water at the park, and Hannah decided to dunk her head in and get her hair all wet!  Several of her little friends followed suit - I'm sure their moms were thrilled!

Not quite sure about the spraypark at first...

She didn't love getting wet, but she loved getting OTHER kids wet!

Hemi and No-No!

I miss the days when Hannah said "Hemi and No-No" instead of Henry and Nora. She's growing up! Amy, Andy, and the kids came over the weekend we came home from North Carolina.  They had fun playing outside in our (small) pool, and we took a trip to Erma's, the frozen custard place Jay & Amy used to visit. The girls had fun running around picking flowers & Henry thoroughly enjoyed his ice cream!

Pizza party!

Love this!!

A few videos of the kids playing - Henry made his first basket:

North Carolina Vacation

We recently went to North Carolina to visit Jay's grandparents. We broke the 11-hour drive up over two days, and Hannah was fairly good in the car (cartoon coma!). We stayed at the Mountain Lodge for three nights, which was really close to his grandparents. The suite had two rooms (one bedroom/bathroom and one kitchen/sitting area. It was nice not having to stay in the same room as Hannah since she goes to bed at 7:00! We loved swimming in the pool every day, and it was nice to visit and eat out with his grandparents. One of the days, we went to Carl Sandburg's home and visited his wife's goat farm.  Hannah had so much fun! "Her goat" was named Barney, and she followed him around/hugged him/held his tail for about an hour. We had a great vacation!
A blast from the past! Check out the photo below....same hotel, two years later!

Hannah LOVED Barney!

This was taken after Hannah added her handprint to Great Grandma's birthday sign

Part of our suite : )

Luckily, she didn't eat the cotton candy.  She sure had fun swinging it around and looking at it, though!

Thanks, Aunt Anne!

My Aunt Anne has been sending Hannah fun packages in the mail every so often - she loves it!! Here she is coloring in her new coloring book. : )  Thanks for thinking of Hannah.  We'll send you a picture soon!

Visit With Grandma & Grandpa Vought

Hannah got to stay with Grandma & Grandpa Vought for a few days while Jay was standing up in Joe Pole's wedding. She had a lot of fun! She got to go out for dinner/ice cream, visit with Aunt Camilla, go out on Grandpa's boat, play in her pool, and go on her first trampoline, and more!

New Bike & Being Silly

When Amelia came to play a few weeks ago, she brought her Minnie Mouse bike with her.  Hannah's eyes lit up when she saw all the sounds, lights, baskets, etc. that the bike was decked out with. There were several meltdowns over taking turns riding it, and so we decided that Hannah might like the same bike.  Grandma & Grandpa VZ found the bike and brought it with them during their visit - Hannah was so excited!  She hasn't gotten the hang of pedaling yet, but she likes to ride it anyway. We even rode it down the street to a neighborhood lemonade stand. : )

Hovering over Grandpa - so much pressure to get the darn thing ready for her to ride!!

Here's a super cute video my mom took while Hannah was playing:

Apparently, one MUST wear one's winter kitty hat at all times while in the pool:
